Family Opera: November 2005
The Nightingale
This season's opera for families, our 32nd family opera, was Charles Strouse's The Nightingale. The song of the nightingale enchants the Chinese emperor, but when a mechanical bird replaces the real nightingale, all is not well at the palace. This family opera is based on Hans Christian Andersen's The Emperor and the Nightingale. Sung in English.
